3. Texas defense holds Murray to under 400 yards of total offense

Before you laugh, consider the numbers.

The soon-to-be Oakland A averages over 411 yards of total offense per game. Last week against West Virginia, he completed 20-of-27 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to nine rushes for 114 yards (averaging 12.7 per carry). In short, the man was electric when his team counted on him the most in a tough road win. And, of course, he gained 478 yards of offense.

In 2018, Murray averages 77.5 rushing yards per game and has scored 11 touchdowns on the ground. He’s thrown for more than 3,600 yards, 37 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions.

Look for the Texas defense to key in on stopping Murray in any way possible. They were able to (relatively) stymie Murray until the fourth quarter last month, when he made a series of big plays to bring the Sooners back in the game — including a 67-yard touchdown run with eight minutes remaining. In addition, Murray committed two crucial turnovers that put the Sooners in a 45-24 in the first place.
