1. If Georgia can almost beat Alabama, they can beat anyone

If Jacobs doesn’t recover his fumble in the endzone, the Hail Mary pass is successful or one other bounce goes the way of Georgia the Bulldogs win the SEC Championship Game. Even in defeat, Georgia has already achieved something that no other team has done this season. They took Alabama to deep water and had Nick Saban shaking in his boots.

Here’s Alabama’s margin of victory in each game this season

37, 50, 55, 19, 42, 34, 29, 37, 29, 24, 33, 31, 7

One of those results is not like the others. Alabama beat Texas A&M (No. 19), LSU (No. 10), Mississippi State (No. 18) by three scores. They demolished LSU and Mississippi State by a combined 53-0 score.

Not only did Georgia not lose by a landslide, they scored 28 points on a defense that allows 13.8 points per game and left more points on the field. To date, Georgia is the only team that’s measured up to the best team in the nation.
