Fresno State was tested mightily in the snow, but they ended a two-game losing streak against rival Boise State with a 19-16 overtime victory on Saturday night in Idaho. With the win, the Bulldogs claim the Mountain West crown and a spot in the Las Vegas Bowl for the first time since 2013.

Marcus McMaryion was solid in the victory, throwing for 170 yards and a touchdown on 20-of-32 passing and adding 40 rushing yards. Ronnie Rivers punched in the game-winning touchdown in overtime, as he finished with 63 yards and a score on 17 carries. And while the defense gave up 200 rushing yards to Alexander Mattison, they also allowed him to reach the goal line just once.

It was a decisive performance by a team that came close to claiming the Mountain West crown in 2018. The Bulldogs will vault up ahead of a few idle teams this week to finish in the low 20s of the final College Football Playoff Top 25. Now they prepare for a showdown against a Pac-12 opponent after earlier defeating UCLA in non-conference play back in September.
