2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after the college football season
Was Hue Jackson the reason Cleveland struggled so much the last three seasons? Jackson’s tenure ended with a 3-36-1 record, easily making it one of the worst head coaching runs in NFL history.
The team has a potential star in the making in Baker Mayfield, and the offense looks to be set at running back with former Georgia Bulldog Nick Chubb. With Myles Garrett already dominating on the defensive line, look for the Browns to add another force in the middle with Christian Wilkins.
There’s no denying the level of talent on Clemson’s defensive line, and Wilkins has been a major part of the Tigers success over the last few seasons.
Clogging up the gaps is one of Wilkin’s biggest strengths and he has 12 tackles for a loss this season. The Tigers are giving up only 84 yards per game on the ground this season, which is second in the nation and haven’t allowed a runner to reach the 100 yard mark on them.
He made a few big plays in the Tigers beatdown of Pitt in the ACC title game, finishing with three tackles and a pass deflection.
Wilkins may be gone before this spot, but if he’s available the Browns would be foolish to let him pass them by.
