2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after the college football season

To say the Bengals pass defense has been bad would be a severe understatement. It’s been atrocious as Cincinnati is giving up over 290 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks. This pick can go a number of ways, with cornerback also being a need out of sheer lack of consistency from the position.

One way to help a poor performing secondary is by drafting a dynamite pass rusher. Josh Allen has been one of the best at getting to the quarterback in the FBS this season, posting 14 sacks to go along with an amazing 84 tackles. It has been a steady improvement each season for Allen, and his athleticism gives him the ability to drop back into coverage as well.

Vontaz Burfict is still one of the hardest hitters in the NFL, but picking up Allen would immediately help out a defense with two young signal callers in the division drafted in the first round of last year’s draft.
