2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after the college football season
The Seahawks secondary will enter the offseason completely removed from the Legion of Boom era, as it is highly likely that All-Pro safety Earl Thomas will not be resigned after breaking his leg earlier this year.
The changes should include drafting local fan favorite Byron Murphy out of Washington, who is one of the best cornerbacks in the NCAA. The Huskies have one of the best passing defenses in the country, ranking 25th in the nation while giving up only 189 yards per game through the air.
Although Murphy is only listed at 5-foot-11 182 pounds, he makes up for his lack of size with excellent agility and the ability to play the ball better than anyone in the Pac-12.
He has picked up 55 tackles and broken up 13 passes this season, and he had a good game in the Pac-12 championship with a tackle, two interceptions (one he took to the house).
Seattle needs to make sweeping changes to the defense, and Murphy could be the start of a smooth transition into the next strong Seahawks defensive era.
