2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after the college football season
The graphic and disturbing video of Kansas City Chiefs star running back Kareem Hunt assaulting a woman has made waves around the nation this weekend. Ultimately the Chiefs had no choice but to cut Hunt, receiving scrutiny on both sides of the spectrum for their decision.
However, we aren’t here to discuss whether they should have made this move sooner, only to figure out what they will do with their first pick. Finding Hunt’s replacement is the biggest need for the Chiefs on offense next offseason. Spencer Ware is a serviceable back, but he shouldn’t be counted on in the long run to be a feature back.
Bryce Love would instantly give the Chiefs offense a workhorse running back. He would have been a first round pick last season, and although he is having a down season by his standards, he is hands down the best running back in this draft class.
After rushing for 2,118 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior, he has 739 yards and only six touchdowns this season, but is making more of an impact receiving the ball this with 18 catches.
If Kansas City doesn’t select Love they could go with defensive back help.
