1. Notre Dame’s surprising push to the Playoff

I have yet to really give Notre Dame any kind of benefit of the doubt when it comes to their strength of schedule or their ability to take on anyone of merit. Of course, now we will all see if I am right or wrong as there is no running and hiding now. Now, the Fighting Irish have to take on Clemson. If they pass that test they will draw either Oklahoma or Alabama.

Very few people picked the Irish to be undefeated this season. Very few people thought that the Irish would be with the real deal in 2018, even though as stated above I am not yet convinced that they are that “real deal” as of yet.

Quarterback Ian Book, though fighting injury a bit, has been strong so far this season. He has been able to keep his team on the up and up and now has pushed them into the Playoff. I have yet to see a huge weak spot in this team, even though they did struggle against USC for a bit in Week 13.

Can Notre Dame continue its season of wonder and excitement with a victory over Clemson and a trip to the National Championship? Tune into this one on December 29 to find out.
