1. A rematch of last year’s Orange Bowl

This season, there have been four matchups between Big Ten and ACC teams. Of those four games, three culminated in wins for the Big Ten team. The same outcome was mirrored last season as well.

The only team to submit a loss –– the Big Ten West Champion Northwestern –– to Duke early in the season.

So, not only can Wisconsin help boost the Big Ten’s record against ACC foes, but it also can claim two straight victories against Miami in as many years.

These two teams finished with much better records last season and it is a rematch of sorts. Wisconsin and Miami are familiar with each other after meeting in the Capital One Orange Bowl in 2017 –– a game that resulted in a 34-24 victory for the Badgers.

That game featured many of the same faces that will be playing in this year’s bowl game including Taylor and Miami quarterback Malik Rosier.

In that game, Taylor ran for 130 yards while Rosier threw for 203 yards and a touchdown. While Taylor will still star for Wisconsin, Rosier may not after he was replaced midseason by N’Kosi Perry.

Perry hasn’t performed well of late, especially after an abysmal showing in Miami’s latest contest against Pittsburgh. He completed just 25 percent of his passes and only threw for 52 yards.

One thing he has done well, however, is limiting the turnovers. Perry hasn’t thrown an interception since Oct. 13 –– a sign that he has overcome his mistakes and has learned from them.
