Nebraska Football: 5 takeaways from Cornhuskers’ 2018 season

5. Scott Frost has the Huskers pointed in right direction
It took Scott Frost a little while to get his offense going in Lincoln, but once they knocked out the kinks, fans were delighted to what they expected. Frost, who led Nebraska to a 24-2 record as the starting quarterback, had one of the top offenses in the country while leading UCF to a perfect record.
Most felt that upon his arrival back home, Frost would be putting 50-plus points up a game at Nebraska. But it took some time for Adrian Martinez and company to get going, as they scored just a high of 28 points during a six-game losing streak to begin the year.
After putting up 53 in a win vs. Minnesota, though, the Huskers got going, putting 45, 31, 54 and 28 on the board around a tough nine-point performance in a win vs. Michigan State. They also went 4-0 at home in front of 88,000-plus fans each time.
Look for Nebraska to fine-tune things over the offseason and come out of the gates strong in 2019 with one of the top offenses in the Big Ten.
