Speaking of redemption

The 2017 Army-Navy Game came down to a 48-yard field by junior Bennett Moehring. In freezing temperatures and on a field covered with snow, Moehring hit an incredible ball to win the game.

But, it went just wide left.

Army wins 14-13 and Bennett Moehring feels responsible for the lost.

However, just before the kick, the offense committed two false starts which pushed the kick to be 10 yards further. Moehring has rebounded incredibly this season by making 10-of-12 field goals, including a 48-yarder in Navy’s last game against Tulane.

As previously mentioned, Army is ranked at No. 22 in the AP Poll. Additionally, they come in at No. 25 in the Coaches Poll. However, Army did not break into the College Football Playoff Top 25. This is likely due to Army’s relatively weak schedule.

So as it may seem Army is the clear favorite by only looking at each team’s records, these teams are actually very close in talent and ability. Because the offensive systems, coaching staff, and player skill level are all so similar, this game will be a close one.

In the end, Navy kicker, Bennett Moehring will redeem himself and knock in a game-winner as the clock expires, 27-24.
