I feel bad for West Virginia. The Mountaineers were awesome all year, but they fell apart just a bit at the end of the year, and despite being one of the better teams in the country in my eyes, won’t be playing in a New Year’s Six bowl. Texas gets that spot in the Sugar Bowl instead, despite West Virginia beating the Longhorns. I understand why it happens like that, but I still feel bad.

The Camping World Bowl against Syracuse is a nice consolation though. It could be a fun, high scoring game, and I’ll be happy to watch it, even if West Virginia might deserve better.

Oklahoma deserved the four spot in the playoff, and they got it. I would’ve liked to see UCF get a shot, but I knew that’d never happen, and of the P5 options, Oklahoma makes the most sense. Are they going to beat Alabama? No. But I think if any offense can keep up with Alabama, Oklahoma’s can, and that should be at least fun to watch for a few quarters if nothing else.
