In very dramatic fashion Kyler Murray was able to edge out Tua Tagovailoa and Dwayne Haskins with 2,167 votes. Tagovailoa finished with 1,871 votes and it was a very surprising end to an excellent race.

The 2018 Davey O’Brien award winner also came away with college football’s most coveted trophy and in the end, he was able to overcome Tua’s momentum he had built all season long.

Murray made Sooners fans very happy when he decided to play football this season, and you can make the case that he had an even better season than last year’s Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield.

Murray finished the season with Michael Vick- type numbers. He completed nearly 71 percent of his passes, threw for over 4,000 yards, ran for 892 yards, and accounted for 51 total touchdowns.

He had one of the best seasons you will ever see on a college football field, and while Murray will more than likely head to the Oakland A’s rookie team next year, it was still amazing for fans to see such an excellent player put on a show week in and week out.
