It was only a matter of time before Trevor Lawrence took over for Kelly Bryant as the Tigers starting quarterback this season. The uber-hyped freshman has wowed fans since the spring game, and Clemson’s offense will be in great hands in 2019.

However, with Bryant’s departure to Missouri, it is clear that Lawrence should take the next big leap in his second season for the Tigers.

His numbers were a little skewed due to not starting for much of the first portion of the season, but he still threw for 24 touchdowns, 2,606 passing yards, with only four interceptions.

Lawrence has all the physical tools to be a major player in college football in 2019. If he keeps improving at the rate he’s currently on, we could be looking at the number one overall pick in the 2020 draft.

Clemson schedule next season sees them facing a tough road trip to Syracuse, and their out of conference schedule includes a home game against Texas A&M. If the Tigers run the table again and Lawrence puts up even better numbers next year he would easily be a Heisman finalist.
