Texas A&M football finished the most exciting regular season in quite awhile. Before the offseason sets in, what should Aggies be asking for this Christmas?

Texas A&M has finished the regular season and once again sits at an 8-4 season, looking forward to a bowl game. Is this just a repeat of what we saw under Kevin Sumlin? Not so fast. This team had at least a shot to win each game, hanging in the ring against even the tougher opponents.

Did they get knocked out by Alabama? Yeah, but so did everyone else. Did they have a bad day against Mississippi State? Yes, no one is arguing that one. Otherwise, the losses to Auburn and Clemson aren’t anything to hang their head. The win over LSU to end the season was simply magical.

As the team prepares for the Gator Bowl we put together a holiday wish list for Aggies everywhere.

6. A better road presence in the coming season

For a long time, the complaint was that Kyle Field was no longer the scary and loud place that it once was. However, Jimbo Fisher and his staff fixed that in a hurry. There was only one loss at Kyle Field this season and that was against a team that is headed to the College Football Playoff, Clemson.

That leaves three more losses, all on the road. If the Aggies want to really emerge as an SEC contender, they have to emerge as a stronger performer on the road. The loss to Auburn was a game that fell apart. The loss to Mississippi State was a bad day against the thorn in the Aggies side, Nick Fitzgerald. The loss to Alabama, well everyone expected that one. However, two of those should have easily been wins and no one in College Station would tell you any different.

Despite a second place finish in the SEC West, this team has some growing to do before a stout road schedule in 2019 that includes games at Clemson, Georgia and LSU.
