Florida State Football: 5 reasons Justin Fields would be perfect fit
By Matt Oglesby
3. A talented supporting cast
If the Noles thought 2017 was bad, 2018 taught them that bad has a basement. This season, the Noles suffered their first losing season in 41 years.
Rebuilds often take a while because the cupboard is bare. Not so with Florida State. An atrocious offensive line aside, the Noles have plenty of talent. While this was often a painful reminder in 2018, it could prove tempting to a prospective transfer like Fields.
Big-time running back Khalon Laborn returns from injury next year. Also in the backfield is the ultra-talented (if underappreciated) Cam Akers. With Florida State hoping to shore up the offensive line during the offseason, Akers and Laborn are primed for big 2019 seasons, setting up nicely for a dual-threat quarterback.
Fields would also have plenty of talent to work with in the receiving corps. Most notable is the long, explosive wide out Tomorrion Terry, who finished the season with eight touchdowns and 744 yards.
Of course, all of the programs contending for Fields’s services boast elite rosters. But with a lot of hungry talent returning, Fields shouldn’t sleep on the Noles.
