When it comes to recruiting SEC football is a cut above the norm. The nation’s premier conference holds the top four ranks at the start of the early signing period.

Talent wins championships in college football. The SEC has dominated the recruiting landscape for some time now and, unsurprisingly, has raked in championship after championship. Their dominance on the recruiting trail is in full force in 2019.

The majority of college football’s top prospects have made their decisions and signed on the first day of the early signing period. There are some top players still waiting to make their future destinations official, but the ranks aren’t likely to change drastically over the next few weeks before National Signing Day arrives in February.

With that as a backdrop, here’s how the nation’s Top 25 recruiting ranks look:

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Texas A&M
  4. LSU
  5. Oregon
  6. Clemson
  7. Michigan
  8. Oklahoma
  9. Texas
  10. Penn State
  11. Auburn
  12. Ohio State
  13. Notre Dame
  14. Florida State
  15. Washington
  16. Florida
  17. Tennessee
  18. Stanford
  19. Mississippi State
  20. Arkansas
  21. USC
  22. South Carolina
  23. Ole Miss
  24. Nebraska
  25. Purdue

11 SEC teams rank inside the top 25 classes in the nation. The three omitted, Kentucky, Missouri, and Vanderbilt, rank 32nd, 42nd and 49th, respectively. Every SEC school is inside the top 50. That contrasts sharply with other Power 5 conference which have schools ranking below Group of 5 squads including Utah(70th), Illinois (67th), Kansas State (74th) and Maryland (81st). For reference Louisiana (UL not LSU), ranks 65th in the nation.

Many will try, but there’s just no catching the SEC. Aside from the dominance on Nick Saban and Kirby Smart, the entire conference recruits elite talent like no other in the country. There are a few bluebloods cracking the top 10 from outside the south, but the mainstays at the top of the ranks are SEC powers. That’s not changing any time soon.
