Penn State Football: 5 holiday wish list items for Nittany Lions in 2019
1. College Football Playoff Appearance
The biggest item would be a College Football Playoff appearance next season for the Nittany Lions. They won 11 games in 2016 and 2017 and could win 10 games this season. They have been consistently great, but they need to take that final step to be elite.
The Nittany Lions have to win the big games in 2019 against Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State, which they have failed to do consistently the past few seasons.
Beating those teams requires elite players at multiple positions. Saquon Barkley could not do it all by himself in past years, and Miles Sanders was unable to do it all this season.
Trace McSorley was one of the best quarterbacks in Penn State history, but he was not elite. With a quarterback like Stevens and potential stars like Parsons, Hamler, and Shorter returning next season, Penn State could take that next step and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff in 2019.
