No. 4: Osita Smith, Safety

The highest-rated recruit in West Virginia’s 2019 recruiting class is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety from Columbia, Md. Osita Smith is a four-star product with great length that the West Virginia secondary could thrust into use immediately.

Adding a player like Smith should improve WVU fans’ outlook for the 2019 season, as they’ll be much improved depth-wise on the back end. By now everyone’s familiar with Kenny Robinson, but sophomores-to-be Kwantel Raines and E.J. Brown should see an improved role following the departures of Dravon Askew-Henry and Toyous Avery. Add Smith to that trio and the ‘Eers could be in good shape.

Smith turned down offers from Cincinatti, Indiana, Marshall, Maryland and Purdue, among others, but decided the Old Gold and Blue suited him best.
