2019 NFL Mock Draft: Dwayne Haskins atop one team’s Christmas list
Nick Bosa remains the most likely player to be chosen No. 1 overall as long as a QB needy team doesn’t acquire the first pick by way of trading up.
Bosa missed the majority of his junior season in Columbus due to a core muscle injury. Instead of attempting to rehab and return to Ohio State, Bosa chose to withdraw from school to focus his attention on the upcoming draft.
In a draft that is stocked full of elite defensive line talent, Bosa stands ahead of the pack. In 29 games with the Buckeyes, he managed 17.5 sacks and 29 tackles-for-loss, showing the potential to be an elite pass rusher at the next level.
The Cardinals have a lot of needs, so they might as well take the best player available in Bosa, who could team with Chandler Jones to form a formidable pass rushing duo, giving Arizona something to build around for the future.
If the Cardinals chose to look elsewhere, they could take Alabama offensive tackle Jonah Williams to shore up one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. Arizona has to give Josh Rosen a fair shake to see if he is going to be their franchise QB or not, and they can’t do that if he is constantly running for his life.
Rosen also needs more help at the skill positions, especially if Larry Fitzgerald decides to retire, but that will likely come on day two of the draft and in free agency.
