5. Notre Dame is Meyer’s dream job
The former head coach himself admitted publically Notre Dame was his dream job. At this point in his career, Meyer has done enough to fulfill most every coaching bucket list imaginable. There’s nothing more he must accomplish to be considered one of the best coaches in the sport, all that’s left is personal gratification.
Meyer checked off the SEC and the Big Ten from his coaching shortlist. All that’s left is for him to complete the trifecta by adding the premier independent team in college football to his resume.

Kelly might not be out of a job quite yet, but it’s clear the current head coach at Notre Dame is not ready to take the Irish to where they want to be. Meyer’s done it, he wants the job and he won’t be able to resist coaching for long. He’ll be back in the game soon enough. Notre Dame better hope it’s on the sidelines in South Bend and not somewhere else.
