Georgia Football: 5 reasons Bulldogs will beat Texas in 2019 Sugar Bowl
By Shelbie Warr
The Sugar Bowl is shaping up to be quite exciting this season as Georgia football takes on the Texas Longhorns. Can the Bulldogs knock out UT?
Texas is finally back — maybe. After quite a few years of just disappointing football entirely, a berth into a New Year’s Six bowl seems to be everything that they could have wished for. Some fans obviously wished for more, but at this point this is pretty darn exciting.
For Georgia though, this isn’t even close to what they wanted, what they worked for. However, it will just have to do for this season as the National Championship has already been decided as Alabama will take on Clemson in about a week.
So now, the question is this. Can the Georgia Bulldogs knock out the Texas Longhorns? I think so, but let’s talk about why.
5. Georgia spent the year preparing for the College Football Playoff
Georgia feels utterly disrespected at this point, that much is for certain. This is a team that just a season ago was playing in the National Championship. This is a team that beat almost everyone by double digits. This is a team that was sure that they were headed back to the National Championship.
Of course, it didn’t work out that way. With a loss to LSU and a heartbreaker to Alabama in the SEC title game, the Bulldogs fell to the way side so to speak. Now, they’re stuck in the Sugar Bowl ready to prove to the world that they are infinitely better than not only Texas, but Oklahoma and Notre Dame as well.
