1. Trace McSorley will not lose his last game

Every Nittany Lion fan knows what quarterback Trace McSorley means to the program. His teammates will be playing for him and not let him down in his final game.

The Citrus Bowl will be McSorley’s 40th career start. The Nittany Lions have won 31 of those games, including a Big Ten championship in 2016 and last year’s Fiesta Bowl victory over Washington. He owns several school records including passing yards, completions, passing touchdowns and victories as a starter. With 81 rushing yards against Kentucky he will break Michael Robinson‘s record of most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single season.

It is not just the stats, records and accolades. McSorley is one of the best to suit up for Penn State all-time and has endeared himself to the Nittany Lion faithful with his attitude, leadership and winning mentality. McSorley followed James Franklin when he left Vanderbilt, going to Penn State at a time of transition and change in the wake of scandal. He did not know if he would play in a bowl game when he arrived on campus and now this will be his fourth he has played in, three as the starter.

All of the team wants to see McSorley go out on top. He was nursing some injuries in the latter part of the season, but with a month to rest, should be ready to go for the Citrus Bowl. It is McSorley’s game to cement his legendary status at Penn State. Expect him to have an outstanding game and be named MVP of the game.
