1. Hiring Jimbo Fisher was absolutely the right hire for Texas A&M.

Even now, at the end of the season, many people are still questioning if throwing as much money as Texas A&M did at Jimbo Fisher to lure him away from Florida State. However, this season and especially this game showed us all that this hire was exactly what this team needed.

Jimbo Fisher taught this team how to finish games. That was the biggest issue that the Aggies had under Coach Sumlin. They would get themselves up early and then blow the lead down the stretch as they took their foot off the gas and simply allowed the other team to do whatever their heart desired. Not too great of a plan there.

What did we see this season? We saw a team that never quits. We saw a team that plays overtime after overtime without letting up or giving up. We saw a team that puts their heart and soul on the field each and every game. We saw a team who doesn’t feel the need to look up at the scoreboard, they just feel the need to play until the clock hits zero no matter what.

Jimbo Fisher has taught this team to play for each other and play for themselves. As the old adage goes “you play hard for the name on your back and you play hard for the name that is on your chest.” Simply put, the man was worth the money tenfold.
