1. player. 32. . DE. Ohio State. Nick Bosa

Nick Bosa remains the favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in this draft, but the Cardinals have some options here if they feel like Bosa doesn’t fit their more pressing needs. With Chander Jones already in the fold, the Cardinals have a legitimate pass rushing weapon, which could lead them down a couple of different paths.

First, I think they would seriously consider Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. With Jones already entrenched, adding a dynamic inside presence like Williams could give Arizona an interior pass rush and disruptive run-stopper. The Cardinals finished dead last in the NFL in run defense this season, adding to Williams’ appeal.

Second, don’t discount the Cardinals potentially looking to trade back to acquire more draft capital. With such a big gap between this year’s top quarterback, Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins, and the rest of the field, the Giants and Jaguars could be looking to make a move to ensure they land the Buckeyes’ signal-caller. New York sits ahead of Jacksonville in the draft order, but if they truly covet Haskins, they would be foolish to stand pat with the Jaguars potentially looking to make a move to steal him away.

If Arizona stands pat, while they will do their due diligence on Quinnen Williams, I suspect they will ultimately arrive back on Bosa. His injury past is a bit of a concern, but he has the potential to be a dominant pass rusher. Teaming him with Chandler Jones would give the Cardinals a pair of ferocious rushers, providing the nucleus for the rebuild in the desert.

The Raiders could also be in the market for trading up to grab this pick, and the Cardinals would be smart to listen to an offer with the possibility of adding a second, or even third, first round pick in this draft class by moving back three picks.
