3. Fromm will be key to winning, again

The running back position has always been a key to success in Athens, Ga., but the Bulldogs have been in the double-digit win totals when their quarterback play has been fantastic, too.

Georgia posted the nation’s fifth-ranked offense, per the S&P+, on the back of Jake Fromm. The true sophomore quarterback has been so good two other big name passers have transferred out of Athens in Jacob Eason (Washington) and Justin Fields (OSU).

Matt Stafford and Aaron Murray were two of Mark Richt‘s biggest quarterback signings during his tenure Between the Hedges. Stafford won 30 games as the UGA starter while Murray won 36. Fromm already has 24 wins in only two seasons and could reasonably win 36 games in his career if the Dawgs return to form in 2019.

The local four-star talent from Warner Robbins, has averaged nine yards per passing attempt over his two-season career.

Winning 24 games and guiding the Bulldogs to the College Football Playoff National Championship game as a true freshman is no small feat. Fromm’s two seasons as starter have seen the Bulldogs an overtime touchdown away from victory over SEC-rival Alabama and Fromm is only getting better. He threw for 2,761 yards in 2018 while adding 30 touchdowns and only tossed six interceptions.

The rising junior will be the key to consistency and success in 2019 for UGA.
