2. An easier schedule

This isn’t so much a fix as it is a gift. The Noles had a brutal schedule in 2018, among the toughest in the nation.

Florida State started off the year with a bad home loss to Virginia Tech, before facing a good Syracuse team in the Dome and the Miami Hurricanes on the road.

The Noles then faced the N.C. State Wolfpack, led by quarterback Ryan Finley, a ranked Boston College, and a resurgent Florida Gators. Taggart’s first season also featured beat downs from two playoff teams—Notre Dame and the national championship-winning Clemson Tigers.

The Noles have a lighter 2019 schedule. Florida State will open in Jacksonville against Boise State. Florida State’s remaining non-conference includes home games against Louisiana-Monroe and Alabama State, and trip to the Swamp to face the Gators.

Of course, no schedule is easy when you have to face the Tigers, who just dropkicked an all-time great Alabama team, but at least the rest of the schedule offers hope.
