Auburn Tigers: Most likely to have a coach on the hot seat from day one.

This one should surprise literally no one. People have been calling for the head of Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn for quite awhile and the more that the team struggles, the more those cries are heard louder and clearer than they were previously. That didn’t change in 2018, as an eight-win Tiger team wasn’t acceptable enough for the fans and athletic department. So many are calling for the head of Gus Malzahn that at this point, his buyout may not even matter in the grand scheme of things.

The team started the season well enough, beating the Washington Huskies narrowly. Both of these teams were considered just outside the Playoff bubble in 2017 making this game one of the most advertised across the nation. It did live up to billing, but the remainder of the Auburn season did not. The biggest issue? This team lost to Tennessee and that was unacceptable and disgraceful.

My point here? This one was the easiest of all to write simply as the superlative was obvious. If Auburn does not put together a strong season in 2019, Gus Malzhan is as good as gone. Honestly, at this point, he may be on his way out the door for anything less than a National Championship, but we shall see.
