Tennessee Volunteers: Most likely to prove they hired the right guy.

Under new head coach Jeremy Pruitt, the Volunteers didn’t exactly get the results that they wanted for the season as a whole. Yes, they upset Auburn and Kentucky. However, they also didn’t make a bowl game as they finished 5-7 and saw too much of a roller coaster ride throughout the season. Fans aren’t happy and some are already questioning if hiring Jeremy Pruitt away from Alabama was the right idea.

Let me tell you right now though, it was absolutely the right idea as the team begins to get ready for year two under former Alabama defensive coordinator. With quarterback Jarrett Guarantano finally getting his swagger so to speak and his team rallying around not only him, but their head coach- this is a team that could be getting back to form and may compete for an SEC East title in 2019 or 2020.

However, whether they compete for that title or not in 2019, Tennessee will show the world and their fan base that the right guy was hired for the job and there is no question about it. This team has begun to gain the confidence necessary to be a big-time program in an extremely competitive conference.
