Some expect the Dolphins to consider Kyler Murray with their first round pick, but Adam Schefter reported (admittedly before Murray announced his NFL Draft intentions) that Miami is hoping to target one of the top quarterbacks in what could be a loaded 2020 draft class.

That could change over the next few months if they fall in love with Murray or another QB. Regardless, the Dolphins seem primed to move on from Ryan Tannehill this offseason, potentially saving up to $18 million in cap space by cutting him.

Miami’s 2020 plans could be foolhardy anyway, because they aren’t likely to be bad enough in 2019 to compete for a Top 5 pick that will be required to grab Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa or Oregon’s Justin Herbert.

That could accelerate their plans this offseason, potentially putting Murray in play with this selection.

My expectation is that they’ll look for upgrades elsewhere to get things ready for a run at Tua or Herbert next season. That starts up front with an offensive line that allowed 52 sacks in 2018, which tied for the fifth worst mark in the NFL.

Little could help that immediately, providing the Dolphins with a pair of bookend tackles from Ole Miss that solidifies their offensive line.

With some of the recent negativity surrounding Jonah Williams, Little could be a big beneficiary of that as he potentially bolts up toward the top offensive lineman on draft boards. Little seems better suited to play tackle, in the very least, which elevates his stock already.
