35. . DE/OLB. Louisiana Tech. Jaylon Ferguson. 19. player

Jaylon Ferguson was insanely productive over his four-year career at Louisiana Tech, with a big Hawaii Bowl against Hawaii helping Ferguson finish as the NCAA’s all-time sacks leader with 45 in his career. Sacks didn’t become an official NCAA stat until 2000.

Ferguson led the nation in sacks with 17 and tackles-for-loss with 26.5. Even against weak competition in the C-USA, his production has the attention of scouts and should find him selected in the first round in April.

Regardless of the competition, Ferguson has legitimate pass rushing tools that should translate to the NFL. He has a high floor that should allow him to contribute for a team right away, while also boasting tremendous upside that could see him become a future NFL sack champ.

The Titans ranked 16th in the NFL in sacks, and will be losing one of their top edge rushers in Brian Orakpo, who plans to retire to focus on his cupcake business. His departure adds to the need for a youth influx off the edge.

Don’t be surprised if the Titans look at an offensive lineman with this pick as they try to solidify Marcus Mariota’s protection. Tennessee gave up 47 sacks in 2018, which ranked as the 10th worst mark in the league.

If they aren’t sold on Ferguson (or Florida State’s Brian Burns) then they could be compelled to grab an offensive lineman like Florida’s Jawaan Taylor or Kansas State’s Dalton Risner.
