4. The Thriller at Jordan-Hare

When LSU takes on Auburn, things get exciting and things get close, always. This one was the SEC opener for the LSU Tigers and it sure lived up to be billing. At that point, Auburn sat at No. 7 in the nation. Of course, like Miami, that didn’t play out for them at all. That is neither here nor there though. For LSU, this was an extremely important win.

It came down to a the foot of Cole Tracy, a JUCO transfer, on a 42 yarder as time expired. As that ball went through the uprights, the entirety of the LSU team felt like a weight was lifted off their shoulders.

This is yet another game that added the confidence that this team needed to keep going if you will. It helps quite a bit that Auburn’s kicker missed a field goal earlier in the game, since the Tigers only won by one point.
