While Oklahoma football waseliminated by Alabama in the Playoff semifinal, it put together a great 2018 campaign. What moments really stood out?

The Oklahoma Sooners were once again Champions of the Big 12, the self-proclaimed toughest conference in the nation. I’m not sure if that is because games always come down to the wire due to lack of defense across the conference or just because of pride, but that is the decision they have come to.

No matter what though, the Sooners sit atop the conference and made a trip to the playoff.

Despite losing to Alabama, there were quite a few big moments that stand out above the rest for this team. What are they?

5. Surviving an overtime upset bid from Army

At the start of the season, in Week 4, Oklahoma took on those guys at Army. This was expected to a win for the Sooners with big score differential. It was a win, that was for sure, but it wasn’t pretty and it was way closer than anyone expected it to be. It took a lot of fight, semi-decent defense and a bit of Kyler Murray magic but the Sooners got it done.

The game showed a big time time of possession swing between these two teams, Army having the ball for almost three quarters of the game. The issue? Army had literally zero passing game. They literally had three pass completions and the play that won the game for Oklahoma was an interception — shocking enough for a team with very little defense.

No matter what, though, this game put the Oklahoma team on the brink and because of that they grew up and were ready to go against literally anyone.
