With some offensive line departures, Penn State is looking to beef up their depth. They already have three offensive lineman in the class, but adding Doug Nester would be a big boon.

Nester is one of the highest ranked prospects Penn State is left pursuing. He is listed as 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds. He hails from Huntingdon, West Virginia and is the number two prospect in the state along with being the sixth ranked guard in the country.

Nester has been verbally committed to Ohio State since August 2017, but he did not sign his letter of intent during the early signing period, leaving open the possibility of a flip. The retirement of Urban Meyer has made his recruitment process by the Buckeyes even more shaky. Penn State has been pursuing him hard along with Virginia Tech making a late push for Nester’s commit.

It would be huge for the Lions to steal away a highly rated recruit from a Big Ten rival. Nester had an official visit to Ohio State recently and has planned visits to Penn State and Virginia Tech before making a decision. This one will come down to the wire and Nester probably won’t make his decision known until Signing Day on Feb. 6.
