Big Ten Football: Top 10 recruits joining the conference in 2019
There are two schools in the Big Ten you could debate as Offensive Line U: Iowa and Wisconsin. While Iowa has molded many of their great offensive linemen from two and three star prospects, Wisconsin is bringing in the best of the best on the recruiting trail as of late. That trend is continuing for Paul Chryst and the Badgers with the signing of five-star offensive tackle, Logan Brown.
Brown, a 6-foot-6, 305 pound left tackle from Kentwood, Michigan is ranked as the 17th-best prospect in the 2019 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports. He has a great chance of competing for playing time right away as the Badgers took a big hit on their offensive line with the departures of David Edwards, Michael Dieter and Beau Benzschawel to the NFL. Brown was a four-year starter at East Kentwood High School and routinely dominated opposing defensive ends in the state of Michigan.
Watching Brown on tape, he has phenomenal arm strength as showcased in the All-American Bowl 1-on-1’s. If he gets you stood up and stops your momentum, he is driving you back and putting square on your back. One thing he does need to work on is his quickness, his first step out of his stance is okay, but it will have to become quicker to match the first steps of defensive ends in the Big Ten. All in all, this kid has the skill set to be one of the best to come through Madison.
