4. Purdue Boilermakers

The up-and-down season of the Purdue Boilermakers provided entertainment all season long from the close losses at the beginning of the season to the dominant win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in West Layfayette. While this system that Jeff Brohm wants to run doesn’t favor the skill set of Kelly Bryant, he could still decide to #BoilerUp with the opening at quarterback.

More from Missouri Tigers

Despite being snubbed by the College Football Playoff committee in the past two seasons, the Big Ten receives ample amounts of national attention with the NFL prospects coming out of Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin every year. Purdue returns one of the most incredible freshman receivers football has ever seen in Rondale Moore and a phenomenal coach in Jeff Brohm.

The Big Ten South is up for grabs considering Wisconsin’s and Iowa’s average play from a year ago and the rise of teams like Northwestern, Nebraska and Purdue, forcing teams to respect them for a full four quarters.

The Boilermakers lose quarterback David Blough and next man up Elijah Sindelar didn’t do much to keep his starting job in the early parts of the season before an injury opened the door for Blough to take over. I’m confident that a coach of Brohm’s caliber could find a way to adapt his offensive scheme to a player of Bryant’s skill set should he decide to join the team.

Also, wouldn’t it be awesome to see Clemson-transfer Kelly Bryant face off against Clemson-transfer Hunter Johnson (Northwestern) at some point during the season?
