Missouri Football: 7 potential transfer destinations for Kelly Bryant
3. North Carolina Tar Heels
North Carolina is heading back in the right direction under new coach Mack Brown considering the strides he’s made in the recruiting game. The Texas-legend came in and stole a quarterback recruit from Florida State and brought in Ole Miss coordinator Phil Longo to run things on the offensive side of the ball.
Although Kelly Bryant fits more of what Larry Fedora wants to do, he could still fit in Longo’s offensive system based on what we’ve seen him do with Jordan Ta’Amu at Ole Miss who also brought a dual-threat edge to the Rebel’s offense in his two seasons. Bryant visited North Carolina multiple times before choosing to go to Missouri and should he decide to move again Chapel Hill would be a logical choice.
The Heels do bring in four-star quarterback Sam Howell, but Bryant could give the Tar Heels a more proven option at the position and give Brown and Longo more time to develop the Monroe, N.C., product while also contending immediately in the ACC Coastal division that, let’s face it, is in a downward spiral after Miami’s blunder of a 2018 season.
The only thing that could be keeping Bryant away from North Carolina is their history of problems with the NCAA and why would he leave a team with a bowl ban for a team that might emerge with some of their own at any moment?
