28. . WR. Ole Miss. A.J. Brown. 24. player

Jon Gruden made some interesting decisions over the past few months with his Oakland Raiders, and the 2019 draft is expected to be the time for Gruden to show off why he did what he did. That includes replacing Amari Cooper, who he dealt to the Dallas Cowboys for a first round pick.

Enter A.J. Brown, a former Ole Miss standout who had 85 receptions for 1,320 yards and six touchdowns this past season. While the offense wasn’t quite as high-octane as years past for Ole Miss, Brown still found his way to shine.

A three-year regular, the 6-foot-1, 225-pound Brown had 75 catches for 1,252 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns in 2017. He made 29 receptions for 412 yards and two scores as a freshman.

Brown’s selection gives Derek Carr the No. 1 wide receiver he was missing this year after Cooper was traded. Jordy Nelson can slide back to his slot role with Seth Roberts, tight end Jared Cook and running back Jalen Richard remaining key components to the offense.
