5. Zykamren Robinson

With three of South Carolina’s top rushers from 2018 heading into their senior year and with the departure of Ty’Son Williams, Zykamren Robinson could be an important piece for the Gamecocks’ future running game.

An in-state target for the Gamecocks, Robinson is the 73rd-ranked running back according to 247Sports. Having run track in high school, Robinson has a verified 40-yard dash time of 4.75 seconds. Combine his speed with his build – 5-11, 222 pounds – and Robinson could compete for carries in the future.

Robinson recorded 398 yards and an average of 5.4 yards per carry in his senior season for Spartanburg High School. He also caught passes out of the backfield to the tune of 19 receptions for 185 yards and one touchdown in his final season. His ability to catch the ball could certainly help him gain playing time.

Currently, Robinson has high interest in South Carolina, Tennessee and Missouri according to Rivals. During his recruiting process, Robinson has taken two unofficial visits to South Carolina and attended a school camp on June 8, 2018 — 247Sports gives the edge to South Carolina.

Muschamp needs to hit on more offensive talent, especially in-state offensive talent like Robinson. It also wouldn’t hurt to beat out an SEC East rival like Tennessee in the process.
