4. Dequan Watts

Listed as an athlete, Dequan Watts spent much of his senior season playing corner for Jackson High School in Atlanta, Georgia. He finished the season with an impressive six interceptions and 19 passes defended — 247Sports pegs Watts as the 64th ranked athlete in the 2019 recruiting class.

Where Watts ends up on National Signing Day will be an interesting development to follow. According to 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction, Watts remains undecided with South Carolina owning the highest chance of landing a commitment from Watts – a 22 percent chance. Louisville is following close behind with an 11 percent chance. Watts is also interested in playing for Oregon and UCF. He was previously committed to UCF before reopening his recruitment in November.

As of February 5th, Watts was most recently retweeting about his visit to South Carolina which occurred on January 20th. Of his visit, Watts said that he really “liked the training room, the locker room, and really the whole thing,” according to Gamecock Central.

Since his visit to Columbia, Watts has also visited Oregon and Louisville.

If Muschamp and company can land both Watts and Jammie Robinson (more on him to come), South Carolina would enter the 2019 season with much needed depth and replenished talent.
