With National Signing Day behind us, here are five signees who can make names for themselves early in their Notre Dame football careers.

Given the number of commits who signed early in the recruiting process, the days heading up to the 2019 National Signing Day didn’t boast the same level of intrigue that they have in the past. Names like Asa Turner and Isaiah Foskey made way for some uncertainty, but the majority of Notre Dame’s 2019 class was known far in advance.

However, not all of them will see action in their first year. In fact, only a mere few of them will contribute on a consistent basis. This was the case for the Irish in 2018 as Houston Griffith, Jayson Ademilola, and TaRiq Bracy were the only freshmen to earn meaningful snaps throughout the season.

While that is not necessarily an indicator of how this season will transpire, it is a testament to the difficulty of earning playing time as a freshman. However, there are those whose pure talent will force them into playing time, and others who will accomplish such through injury, lack of depth, etc. Here are of few players who may have an advantage when it comes to playing day one.
