Whenever Oklahoma State football is able to land a recruit the level of four-star Collinsville High School tight end Grayson Boomer over the in-state rival Oklahoma Sooners, it is a big win for Gundy. Oklahoma State landed Boomer over the likes of the Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Oklahoma.

The intrigue surrounding Boomer is well-warranted for the Oklahoma State offense considering the add of former Princeton Tigers offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson to the staff. Gleeson is a rising star in the world of young offensive coaching minds and his time in Stillwater should be something special.

One thing that Gleeson loves to do with his offensive schemes is mix in versatile tight ends and different packages with quarterbacks to confuse opposing defenses. At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Boomer will be a very intriguing weapon for Gleeson and Gundy to use right away since he has the size and strength to go along with very reliable hands.

Boomer ranks as the nation’s No. 6 2019 high school tight end recruit and he’ll bring a new factor for this Oklahoma State offense alongside the sizable and developing tight end Jelani Woods. The combination of Boomer and Woods with this offense is something that opposing defenses in the Big 12 should worry about for a long time.
