2019 NFL Draft: Top 10 Quarterback prospects, ranked
10. Jarrett Stidham –– Auburn
Jarrett Stidham began his college career at Baylor but amidst the turmoil in Waco he departed and settled at Auburn, where he spent two years as the starting quarterback.
Perhaps one of his best Auburn-career related highlights came in 2017 when he helped the Tigers take down Alabama en route to an SEC West title.
While at Auburn, Stidham threw for a grand total of 5,952 yards and 36 touchdowns with a 64 percent completion percentage. These stats were compiled through two years as a starter.
Delving deeper into Stidham’s time at Auburn, it is evident that he had two fairly identical seasons playing for the Tigers. He matched his single-season touchdown total (18) in both seasons and threw one less interception in 2018 (5) than he did in 2017 (6).
Even though he only was on Auburn’s campus for two years, he still ranks second all-time in program history for passing touchdowns –– set at his career total of 48 touchdown throws.
He is also the third-best quarterback in Auburn history from a passing yard standpoint with 7,217 yards compiled throughout his college career.
While Stidham didn’t completely light up the stat sheet, he was serviceable, reliable and dependable for Auburn –– a team that likes to have a pass-run balance on offense.
Upsides: Familiar with a pro-style offense, high completion percentage, limits turnovers
Downsides: More of a game-manager, room for improvement on downfield arm strength
