Arkansas football was easily one of the worst teams across the nation in 2018. How does a team get better when it seems like everything has to be fixed?

The Razorbacks struggled from Week 2 onward. Week 1 was an easy victory that made quite a few fans have a false sense of security in Chad Morris and his new Razorback coaching staff. Yes, it was only Eastern Illinois, but opening with a dominating win over anybody is always great. However, the Hogs followed that up with losses to smaller teams and then struggled through SEC play.

There is quite a bit for the Razorbacks to fix in 2019, but here are top five fixes.

5. Beating teams you are supposed to beat.

Yes, when you are a team that is struggling, playing in the SEC is going to smack you around. That is no secret, especially in a division that houses Alabama and LSU among others. All of that being said though, there are always those non conference teams that are scheduled specifically as record boosters.

For Arkansas those teams were Eastern Illinois, North Texas, Colorado State and Tulsa. The team finished the season with a 2-2 record against those not so great, much lesser programs. That isn’t acceptable for an SEC program, especially one with a new coach who talked like this program was finally going to turn it around.

In 2019 it will be Portland State, Colorado State, San Jose State and WKU. All of those are teams that the Razorbacks should be beating handily. I expect them to do just that because if not, the fan base is in for yet another super long and disappointing year.
