4. Patrick Herbert, Tight End

Justin Herbert passed up on likely being one of the top-5 picks in the NFL Draft to return back to Oregon for one last ride in the (Insert your favorite Oregon color combination here). Although he mentioned that he loved the school and all it has done for him in his statement announcing his return, one has to assume that the possibility of throwing touchdown passes to his brother Patrick Herbert as they look to win the Pac 12 had to be a marquee reason he decided to stay.

Oregon has had some playmakers at tight end over the past several seasons in speedster Colt Lyerla and Jacob Breeland. Although Breeland is back for his Junior season, Patrick Herbert will likely see the field in some capacity so that he can develop alongside his brother Justin before he departs to the NFL.

Patrick finished his senior season with over 700 yards receiving and was a touchdown machine in the redzone with 11 scores. Herbert will likely see a healthy snap-split with Breeland given his 6-foot-6 frame and incredible upside on top of Breeland’s regression in yards per reception from 2017 to 2018. I can almost assure one touchdown goes the way of Patrick Herbert this season and Oregon Ducks Twitter will erupt in celebration in response to the brotherly connection.
