8. Anthony Johnson –– Buffalo

The 2017 season already provided a pedestal for Anthony Johnson to stand on as he claimed sole ownership of the most receiving yards (1,356) in the nation.

Originally a junior college transfer, Johnson exploded onto the scene to shred MAC defenses after sitting out a year as a redshirt.

In two seasons played with Buffalo, he averaged 17.8 yards per catch –– a telling figure to his playmaking ability. In each of those seasons, Johnson also registered more than 1,000 receiving yards. Last year, Johnson caught 57 passes for 1,011 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In one-fourth of his games played, Johnson had 100+ receiving yards including one game against Miami (OH) which he went off for 238 yards and three scores.

Perhaps underrated by playing against mostly non-Power 5 competition, Johnson makes for a touted draft prospect because of his combination of speed and hands.

Throughout his Buffalo career, he made a series of impressive catches and bailed out the quarterback. Johnson also showed inklings of being able to catch and adjust to multiple pass types –– from the long ball to the quick route and the back shoulder throw.

He’ll be a good fit for a team that is looking for a receiver that can run a variety of routes. One storyline to follow: he is cousins with NFL defensive end Jadaveon Clowney, so perhaps, they could team up.
