4. Hakeem Butler –– Iowa State

The biggest receiver award in the 2019 wide receiver class goes to the 6-foot-6, 225 pound Iowa State product Hakeem Butler.

Butler’s allure surely comes as a result of his imposing size, which is a complete matchup nightmare for opposing defenses –– especially those that have smaller defensive backs.

Butler’s 2018 numbers suggest that he took big strides from his redshirt sophomore to redshirt junior seasons. Last year, he corralled 60 catches for 1,318 yards and nine touchdown catches.

One statistic that is astonishing is his 22 yards per catch average recorded in 2018. Of course, his height makes him extremely hard to defend even from underneath.

Butler definitely uses his size to his advantage. He goes up and gets the football wherever it is and adjusts pretty well to underthrow or poorly thrown balls.

Butler’s gameplay featured a bevy of highlight-reel catches including one-handers and catches he completely outjumps a defender for.

For a team searching for a massive target downfield, look no further than Butler, whose blend of size and athleticism should pose significant threats in any passing offense.
