Jachai Polite may be under-sized for an NFL defensive end, at 6-foot-2 and only 242 pounds. But what Polite does not lack is speed and athleticism. He is sure to be playing on Sundays this fall.

Polite played in 12 games his freshman year at Florida, making 11 tackles and two sacks. His sophomore year was cut short by a season-ending shoulder injury. Last season, Polite was an absolute force for the Gators. His season stats included 45 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and six forced fumbles. He figured he should strike while the iron is hot and declared early for the NFL Draft.

Nobody will deny Polite’s determination to make a name for himself. He never quits on a play and has a nose for taking down quarterbacks. He is projected to be an edge rusher at the next level although in a 3-4 NFL defense, he could end up playing a hybrid outside linebacker.

Polite may be underrated because of his size. But NFL teams should not underestimate the kid. Teams looking for a guy that gives 100 percent every play should definitely take a look at drafting Polite.
