Clemson seems to churn out defensive linemen in droves and this year’s class is no exception. Defensive end Clelin Ferrell looks to find a home at the next level this fall.

Ferrell has good size for a defensive end at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds. He was very productive in all three of his seasons at Clemson. In his three years, he tallied 166 total tackles, 50 total tackles for loss, 27 sacks, and five forced fumbles. Last season against Georgia Tech, Ferrell even recovered a loose ball in the end zone for a rare touchdown for a defensive end.

One negative against Ferrell is his lack of burst off the line. However, once he does get moving he is relentless in his pursuit. Another drawback is he did tear his ACL in 2014 so hopefully he does not have another injury like that in the NFL. The drawbacks may keep Ferrell from being a top ten selection, but he certainly will hear his name called on the first day of the draft.
