Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray is the draft’s most polarizing prospect; some teams will value him as a Top 10 prospect, while other franchises will remove them from their draft boards entirely due his height.

The varying viewpoints on the Heisman Trophy winner make him tough to project. What happens next week in Indianapolis will affect Murray more than his outstanding junior season in Norman ever could.

Murray has terrific arm strength, showing an ability to make every throw on the field. He’s also an outstanding athlete, adding over 1000 rushing yards to his video-game like numbers as he helped lead Oklahoma to a Big 12 Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff.

The only concern when it comes to him is his slight frame. At just 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds if he’s soaking wet, there are legitimate concerns about Murray being able to stay healthy from the hits he will take in the NFL.

In today’s NFL, however, Murray seems like a great fit in an offense that will utilize him properly with a heavy-dose of RPO’s allowing Murray to do what he does best – making quick and decisive throws or take off running with his exceptional speed.

Murray’s too talented to fall out of the first round, but he could be picked almost anywhere. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Giants or Jaguars pulled the trigger on him in the Top 10, or if a team traded inside the Top 10 in order to grab him. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he fell toward the end of the first round and a team like the Chargers or Patriots grabbed him up late on day one.

Somewhere in the middle of the first round makes the most sense to me at this point, with Miami and Washington at No. 13 and No. 14 undoubtedly doing their due diligence on him in the pre-draft process.
